TELANGANA REUTERS, HYDERABAD, INDIA AUGUST 13, 2026 – Villa Marie Degree College for Women, Somajiguda, formally inducted its student office bearers for the 2026–2027 academic year during a ceremonial Investiture Ceremony held on 13th August 2026 in the college premises.
This initiative directly reflects the foundational philosophy laid down by the institution’s Founder, Director and Correspondent, Dr. Philomena, which aims to cultivate self-esteem, self-awareness and self-confidence while empowering young women with critical leadership skills.
The event commenced with a vibrant march past by the student representatives, leading into the official oath-taking ceremony where the student leaders pledged to meticulously discharge their operational duties.
Office bearers were formally installed across thirteen student-led clubs, including the Villa Chambers of Commerce, Gesto Club, Uthkrishta Club, Scizone Club, Literary Wizards Club, Linguistic Pride Club, Sportsiva Club, Earthwise Club, GrowthX Community, Media Guild, Rotaract Club, NCC and NSS. These student-led bodies focus on diverse domains such as business, science, innovation, arts, culture, media, sports, environment, social responsibility and community service.
To further expand the institution’s external civic engagement, officials from the District Rotaract Club were also present to induct the campus Rotaract office bearers, connecting the student leaders to a wider global network.
During the proceedings, Ms. Chinnamma, the Secretary of Villa Marie Degree College for Women, officially released the Annual Report for the 2025–2026 academic year, expressing high appreciation for the collective efforts of the Principal, teaching fraternity and students. Following this, Ms. Chinnamma, alongside Mrs. Revati Devi Mathur, the Principal; the IQAC Coordinator and the Heads of Departments, unveiled the official poster for Villa Conclave 4.0. Scheduled to take place on September 3, 2026, on the Somajiguda campus, this flagship conclave serves as a competitive platform for junior college students across the twin cities to showcase their talents in various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
The event also witnessed the releasing of Run for Nature 2026 poster, the first ever Marathon organized by Villa Marie Degree College for Women on Sept 6th, 2026 at Necklace Road to create awareness about greener environment. Concluding the event, Ms. Chinnamma, the Secretary extended her best wishes to the newly inducted student body, motivating them to leverage this new academic freedom to set higher goals and achieve greater milestones in the upcoming year.
