Telangana Reuters, Hyderabad | October 17, 2026 : TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Jitesh V. Patil, IAS, directed officials to take necessary measures to strengthen power infrastructure in Karwan Constituency and ensure quality and uninterrupted power supply to consumers. On Saturday, the CMD met Karwan MLA Sri Kausar Mohiuddin in Hyderabad and discussed various issues related to power supply, the establishment of new substations, improvement of electrical lines and poles, and enhancement of distribution transformer capacities. Subsequently, he issued several instructions to officials regarding the works to be undertaken in Tappachabutra Cross Roads, Tallagadda, Karwan, Mahaboob Colony and Dattatreya sections.
The CMD instructed officials to examine proposals for replacing low-capacity Distribution Transformers (DTRs) with higher-capacity transformers in the Tallagadda area under Tappachabutra Cross Roads. He directed officials to replace rusted and dilapidated LT electrical poles in Karwan and Dattatreya sections with Pre-Stressed Cement Concrete (PSC) poles within two months. He also instructed officials to replace old iron electrical poles in Mahaboob Colony with new poles.
Regarding the 33 kV overhead line passing over approximately 140 houses, the CMD instructed officials to examine the issue and take necessary measures to address it under the upcoming underground cabling works. He also directed officials to examine proposals for establishing new substations opposite Reliance High Tech School in Tallagadda and near Annapurna ITI. He emphasized the need for immediate action in coordination with the concerned revenue authorities.
The CMD stressed that there should be no delay in addressing power supply interruptions. He instructed field-level officials to remain vigilant, respond promptly to consumer grievances and ensure the timely restoration of power supply.
The meeting was attended by Karwan MLA Sri Kausar Mohiuddin, Chief Engineer (Metro Zone) Sri Karunakar Babu, Chief Engineer (Hyderabad South) Sri Srinivasu, and other concerned Superintending Engineers, Divisional Engineers, ADEs and AEs.
