HYDERABAD, TELANGANA – July 24, 2026 — In a dedicated effort to foster innovation and research-based learning in schools, the District Science Office successfully organized an Orientation and Workshop on the National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC). The event, spearheaded by District Science Officer Sri C. Dharmender Rao, was hosted at The Progress High School, Falaknuma Branch in Bandlaguda Mandal, Hyderabad.
The comprehensive workshop saw enthusiastic participation from 90 guide teachers representing all school managements across the district, equipping them with the tools needed to mentor students in upcoming national science events.
Key Highlights of the Workshop
Honourable District Educational Officer (DEO) Sri S. Yadaiah Garu graced the orientation program with a special visit. Addressing the educators, he emphasized the critical role teachers play in shaping the innovators of tomorrow.
”It is our collective responsibility to inculcate a deep-rooted scientific temper among our school students,” stated Sri S. Yadaiah Garu.
The DEO formally instructed all guide teachers to ensure their schools complete student registrations on the official NCSC Portal well before the strict deadline of July 31, 2026.
Throughout the day, several distinguished speakers provided actionable insights to the attendees:
Sri C. Dharmender Rao (District Science Officer): Delivered an extensive presentation detailing the frameworks and goals of the NCSC, the INSPIRE Awards MANAK, and the Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) for the 2026–2027 academic year. He guided teachers on how to maximize student participation and success in these prestigious national platforms.
Dr. W.Z.G. Prasanna Kumar Garu: Gave an engaging presentation on the National Students Paryavaran Competition (NSPC), highlighting the importance of environmental consciousness. To make the session interactive, he successfully engaged all 90 guide teachers in the ‘Eco Mitra’ quiz competition.
Smt. Gaffurunnisa Madam (TSFA): Conducted a highly focused orientation on the specific sub-themes of this year’s NCSC, breaking down the criteria and expectations to help teachers guide their students’ scientific projects effectively.
The workshop concluded on a high note, serving as a vital collaborative platform to empower educators. The district’s education department remains confident that Hyderabad’s students will showcase outstanding scientific acumen in the 2026-2027 academic year.
