Telangana Reuters, Hyderabad, 1st September, 2026 : The 70th Anniversary Celebrations of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) commenced in a grand manner on Tuesday at the South Central Zonal Office in Saifabad, Hyderabad.
The South Central Zone, comprising the states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, organized the celebrations under the leadership of Zonal Manager Sri Shravan Ramesh. The inaugural ceremony was graced by prominent businessman Sri Yerram Vijay Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of Vasavi Constructions, who attended as the Chief Guest and formally inaugurated the celebrations by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Regional Managers, officers and employees from various departments of the South Central Zonal Office participated enthusiastically in the inaugural programme. The event reflected the pride and spirit associated with LIC’s remarkable journey of 70 years.
Sri Yerram Vijay Kumar, a valued policyholder of LIC for many years, was specially appreciated by the senior officials for sparing his valuable time and participating in the inaugural ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Vijay Kumar expressed his happiness and said:

He specially appreciated the dedicated efforts of LIC employees, marketing personnel, insurance agents, Development Officers and Chief Life Insurance Advisors who have been contributing significantly to the growth and success of the institution.
He described LIC as a symbol of guarantee, trust, purity and financial security. He emphasized that life insurance plays a vital role in securing children’s future, education, higher studies, marriage, family responsibilities and financial stability after retirement.
Sri Vijay Kumar further stated that his family has been associated with LIC for many years and assured that this relationship would continue in the future.
He also expressed his commitment to encourage his relatives and friends to associate themselves with LIC for their financial security.

He noted that LIC traditionally celebrates Insurance Week from September 1 to September 8 every year, and that this year’s celebrations hold special significance as the Corporation marks its glorious 70th year.
Sri Sravana Ramesh stated that LIC has earned an unparalleled reputation for trust, quality and service over the past seven decades.
“Our goal is to ensure that every Indian has access to life insurance protection by 2047,” he said.
He further assured policyholders that LIC remains deeply committed to protecting the hard-earned savings entrusted to the Corporation.
