Department of Commerce at Villa Marie Degree College for Women Hosts “RANGEELA RAAS”, Blending Culture with Social Responsibility

TELANGANA REUTERS, HYDERABAD, INDIA – October 10, 2026 : Villa Marie Degree College for Women hosted its signature cultural event, RANGEELA RAAS, organized by the Department of Commerce in collaboration with N Creations Events & Entertainments today. The grand celebration took place on the college premises from 10 am onwards, beautifully executing the institutional vision to cultivate future-ready, socially responsible, and culturally sensible leaders.

The vision of Dr. Philomena, Founder, Director, and Correspondent of Villa Marie, to groom the younger generation into culturally aware and empathetic citizens, resonated throughout the festivities. The entire Villa Marie fraternity witnessed a magnificent showcase that bridged traditional festivities with a profound community cause.

The dynamic program started with the vibrant Bathukamma celebrations, transitioning into high-energy Dandiya and Garba performances as part of the ongoing Navarathiri festivities. The organizers hosted a live band that filled the campus with infectious rhythm, prompting students to enjoy the songs through synchronized singing and dancing. Adding to the collective joy, the faculty of Villa Marie Degree College for Women joined the fun by performing Dandiya alongside the students.

The spectacular performances reflected the success of a structured three-day Dandiya and Garba workshop organized by the Department of Commerce earlier this week, ensuring all participants twirled and grooved with artistic precision.

As part of the Outreach Programme, demonstrating a strong commitment to holistic education and compassionate nation-building, the faculty and students of the Department of Commerce organized this entire event to raise funds for a needy child’s education. Mrs. Revati Devi Mathur, Principal of the Degree College, congratulated the department for demonstrating stellar social responsibility and successfully taking India’s rich cultural heritage to the next generation.

The memorable event concluded with an exciting prize distribution ceremony celebrating the Best Dancer and Best Attire among the participants. Concluding the festivities, the Head of the Department, Mr. Jeyakumar, delivered the vote of thanks and extended his deep gratitude to the management for their consistent support toward all student-centric ventures.
