Veer Ratna Foundation organises a programme on Women Empowerment for Veernaris under the aegis of the Sainik Welfare Department

Telangana Reuters, Secunderabad, 29 July, 2026 :  Veer Ratna Foundation (VRF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the socio-economic empowerment, welfare, and overall development of Veer Naris (war widows) and their children of the personnel of the Indian Armed Forces and the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.

In this regard, a special Orientation Programme was organized to facilitate the smooth integration of Veer Naris and their family members into the Foundation’s support network. The programme aimed to provide comprehensive awareness about the various welfare schemes and services offered by VRF, the procedures for availing these benefits, the Foundation’s objectives, core values, and the implementation of its programmes. The orientation also served as a platform to guide and empower the beneficiaries, ensuring they receive long-term support and assistance.

The Orientation Programme was conducted on 29 July 2026 at Sainik Aramghar Complex, Somajiguda, Hyderabad, with the support of the Department of Sainik Welfare, Government of Telangana. The programme was coordinated by Mrs. Deepti Sharma, representative of the Veer Ratna Foundation. Veer Naris and their family members from across Telangana participated in the event. Approximately 30 beneficiaries attended the programme and gained detailed insights into the Foundation’s welfare initiatives, support services, and future programmes.

The programme was graced by Brigadier N. R. Babu (Retd), Director, Department of Sainik Welfare, Government of Telangana, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Veer Ratna Foundation (VRF) in creating awareness and providing meaningful support for the welfare and socio-economic empowerment of Veer Naris and their families. He remarked that such initiatives play a vital role in improving the lives of the beneficiaries and strengthening their confidence.

Brigadier N. R. Babu (Retd) also expressed his gratitude to all the Veer Naris and their family members who attended the programme. He assured them that the Department of Sainik Welfare, Government of Telangana, would continue to extend its full support and remain committed to the welfare and well-being of the Armed Forces fraternity and their families.
